GREEK BASIL
Small leaved Greek basil has compact foliage and more rounded leaves than traditional basil.
Taste:
Similar to traditional basil with a sweet – slightly anise flavour.

Tip:
Shred or tear leaves rather than chop them as essential oils are lost.
Goes with:
Olives, tomato, yoghurt, mozzarella, lemon, eggplant, chicken, cucumber, garlic, fish and seafood.

Classic uses:
Marinades, souvlaki, soups and meat based dishes.
Health benefits:
Basil is a source of iron, beta carotene vitamins A and K.
Basil leaves are a source of several health benefiting essential oils such as eugenol, citronellol, linalool, citral, limonene and terpineol. These compounds are known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
